Get virtual Contraptor

Download and install Google Sketchup. It's free and runs natively on Windows and Mac OS, as well as on Linux under Wine.
If you've never used Sketchup, it's highly recommended to watch several short tutorial videos, they will get you productive in no time.
Open Components panel (it's in Window menu) and type contraptor in the search box. Various components and assemblies from Google 3D warehouse will appear in the panel.
Click on anything you find interesting to download and drop it into the main Sketchup window.
